RI Senior Sessions | September Recap

filed in

September…. another month full of beautiful people. Between the start of fall wedding season and the end of senior summer sessions, I feel like September went by in a blink. I will miss my beach days, but I am so happy that I got to do more of what makes me happy: RI Senior Sessions!!!

This month included a few ‘first time” for me: first-time geese make it into my portraits, first time I shoot in Warwick, and first time shooting at the Newport Cliff Walk. Check out the amazing sessions that filled my September RI Senior Session calendar!

Allison – Misquamicut State Beach

My beautiful Ally is one of the original Class of 2022 spokesmodels, and a total rock star in front of the camera (even though she says she’s camera shy!). She’s a senior at Fairhaven High School in MA, but she chose my favorite beach for her session. We went around golden hour and the evening light gave us amazing results! She’s also an aspiring photographer so I left her held one of my babies (a Canon R6) for a couple of cool shots. She is an incredible competitive dancer (I follow her journey and it’s amazing what she can do!) and she is now teaching little ones to dance!

Caroline – Wickford Village

Caroline is one of the most outgoing seniors I’ve had the pleasure to meet! She genuinely loves meeting people, and she’s never afraid to try new things. She’s part of the East Providence High School Class of 2022, and she’s hoping to attend Boston College for psychology after graduation. Her positive and upbeat personality made for an amazing time during our session and although she had never experienced a professional photo shoot before, she is a natural!!!

Jaelyn – Newport

No RI Senior Session month will be complete without a photoshoot in Newport! I met Jaelyn last spring when I did her family’s Spring session and loved this girl so much since then! So when she reached out to do her senior session with me I was like…. heck yeah! Jaelyn is an incredible athlete and she loves the ocean, so she decided to do her session in Newport, and we split her session between the city and the Cliffwalk. I had no clue what she was going to wear and then I saw the red dress… whoaaaa!!! She looked stunning and it was the perfect match to the seaside photoshoot.

Kyleigh – Wickford Village

Kyleigh is a senior at Coventry High School. She’s an Irish step dance and enjoys making jewelry. She wanted senior photos that reflected her love for the ocean and nature, and she picked Wickford. This was the first time I did a session in Wickford in the morning, and O.M.G. it was like shooting there for the first time. The warm, sunny day was perfect and got me choosing spots that I hadn’t tried before. Kyleigh is hoping to attend UConn next fall!

Morgan – Roger Williams Park

Morgan is a senior at Toll Gate High School, and we decided on a morning session at the Roger William Park. It was also the first time I shoot there in the morning, and we had the entire park to ourselves (and the geese!). I’ve known Morgan since she was a little girl because my daughter and she used to be classmates. I actually have cute pictures of them at birthday parties and school events. It’s hard to believe these beautiful girls will be graduating high school in a few months and I know her mom Lisa must be feeling the same knot in her throat that I feel when I think about it!

Sylvia – Wickford Village

Let me tell you about this incredible girl… she is a two-sport athlete and she works at the Roger Williams Park Zoo as a camp counselor and teaching at the animal education programs! She is adventurous and so, so fun! We had great conversations during our time together. Her energy was amazing and she made it so easy. I also learned of our common admiration for RBG (and her famous quote “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made”). Sylvia is a senior at North Kingstown High School and wants to study communications and Spanish in Washington D.C.!

Teagan – Warwick

Teagan is also part of the group of girls that I met in elementary school when my daughter attended Greenwood in Warwick. Seeing her all grown-up and beautiful was amazing. She is the sweetest thing. She and her mom introduced me to new locations in Warwick and I am in love!!! She’s definitely an all-american girl, and if you know me, you know I looooove country, so when I saw her country theme for the last part of her shoot, I was thrilled!
