North Kingstown Wedding | Mary Claire + Scott

filed in

Mary Claire and Scott have one of the most amazing love stories I’ve ever heard.

February 2018, Super Bowl LII. Minneapolis, Minnesota. Scott and his friends, Superbowl tickets in hand, decided to do take a quick run to Macy’s at the Mall of America for Patriots gear, and this decision set destiny’s wheels in motion. Mary Claire was working that day and she helped Scott and his friends find what they need. After Scott left the store, he knew she was special.

“I’ll be right back”, he said to his friends. During his vows, he thanked his friends for not filing a missing person report that day because, for 12 hours, no one knew where he was. You sports fans may be wondering… did he miss the game? He did not, but that day Mary Claire and Scott found love. The kind of love we all aspire to have. The kind of love that makes you swoon at the sight of it. Their 2020 wedding plans of a glamourous affair in Mary Claire’s hometown in Minnesota were halted when the world halted. Like many of us had to do in 2020, they pivoted, regrouped, and replanned. Three times actually! But this time they decided to leave their worries behind and began planning the most meaningful, detailed, and beautiful wedding they could have hoped for.

Their families came from near and far to witness these two finally exchange their vows. We all held our breath as they were reading their commitment to each other because it was THAT BEAUTIFUL – and funny! This wedding was a soirée of love and happiness, and what I loved about this day wasn’t just the amazing colors they chose as a theme, or the warm May weather, it was getting to know Mary Claire and Scott and the incredibly high amount of energy that came from such a small guest count.

Laughter and joy filled their backyard, and the delicious surf and turf dinner catered by B&M Catering complemented the festive atmosphere. The unusually warm and sunny day was the prelude for the bride and groom that looked as amazed as the day they confirmed that love at first sight existed. The day was filled with handcrafted details: from the homemade cakes – including a fire cake in honor of Scott’s selfless profession, to handpicked florals, to an amazing custom stained glass altar.

Mary Claire and Scott: I could not be happier to have been there with you, capturing the love you share. Your day filled my heart with so much joy, and I hope these images do justice to what I witnessed with my own eyes. May your lives always feel like this…
