East Greenwich Senior Photoshoot | Jaydon Pearson

East Greenwich Senior session

What do you get when you mix a walking photoshoot in the heart of East Greenwich + handsome senior boy + the sunlight after the storm: PERFECTION!

It’s Jaydon Pearson’s senior year. A year that is ending with a Football State Championship under his belt and a scholarship to continue his education in Criminal Justice and football career at UMass Dartmouth.

A year of uncertainty and changes could not stop Jaydon from chasing his goals and dreams of college and sports. He is a two-sport athlete – football and lacrosse, and the fact that he was able to play the sports he loves regardless of the limitations, was an incredible way to say goodbye to his high school career.

I may be biased because Jaydon happens to be a good friend of my daughter (*wink, wink*) but this boy is so handsome and funny, that he made my job waaaaay too easy!

When planning his session, he knew he wanted to pay homage to his high school sports, but he also wanted an urban look for his photos. He confessed that he had already done senior photos before, but that he really didn’t love any of them. I took this as a challenge and I wanted to WOW him with his new senior portraits. We got the planning going and we decided that the beautiful Main St. in East Greenwich would be our first stop.

One thing I love to do is to improvise during a session. I’ve done walking photoshoots in downtown Providence, Newport, Boston, and Wickford, but never in East Greenwich. I’ve driven by it several times and I always loved the quaintness of it. The 3-block walking photoshoot offered several amazing backdrops, and along with Jaydon’s personality and killer smile, on top of the beautiful light we got, his portraits were elevated to “model level.”

This new location got my creative juices flowing and I think it may be my new favorite spot for photos! It had rained earlier so there was an incredible glow at the time we started and it just made his photos magical.

After our walking photoshoot in East Greenwich, we continued his session at Goddard Park. I think that if you are an Ocean State senior, you must have some photos by the ocean!

Coventry High School was the last stop of his photoshoot and we decided to get his uniform and gear and roll with it. I am not a sports photographer, but man… Jaydon killed it! I feel like I may have taken the photo that will go on his trading card… just sayin’ 🙂

He is so passionate about the sports he plays, he has so much love and admiration for his family, and he has such kindness in his voice. His favorite quote is “you can’t always wait for someone to open the door for you, sometimes you have to open it yourself.” *Mic drop*

Jaydon: thank you for choosing me to capture one of the most special milestones in your life. It was an honor to get to know you more, to listen to your stories, and to laugh with you. Keep working hard, setting goals, and always, always keep moving forward. You’ll get to where you want to be!

Are you a Class of 2021 senior and still looking for a senior photographer? Heeeeyyy let’s do it! 🙂
