Downtown Providence Spring Family Session

filed in

I’ve done sessions in Downtown Providence in all seasons except spring -until this week! and Brittany, Brandon, Belle, and Chip couldn’t have made it any better!

This fun and spontaneous couple was an absolute joy! They just got a new puppy, Chip, and they wanted to make sure they had a session with him while he is still little. They live in Central MA and they wanted a “city feel” to their session. I couldn’t think of a better place than Downtown Providence on Sunday morning for this.

Downtown Providence has incredible locations for photos – it really is an Instragrammable city! But this particular spot is one of my old-time favorites, with its orange buildings in the background, the river and charming bridge, and the whipping willows that were just starting to show their buds, this place was perfect for their family session!

It started as a foggy morning. For a minute I thought we were not going to be able to do the session because one could barely see 10 feet in front, but let me tell you… this fog created a whimsical look to the bridge photos! I’ve never been to Europe (that’s changing this year!) but I swear it looks like you’re somewhere in the old world.

Brittany and Brandon made my job waaaaay too easy. Brittany is also a photographer and she and I actually met virtually in one of the photographer’s Facebook groups we both belong to. We started discussing styles, tools, and lenses, and it quickly became a virtual friendship, so when she reached out to schedule this session I was thrilled to work with another photographer! Plus, how can I say no to a session with puppies? Photoshoots with dogs can be very unpredictable but I think dogs love me (and I love them back!) because I, somehow, thru some sort of wizardry, am able to make them look straight at the camera! Ok, no wizardry involved, I just make silly noises 😀 And Chip may or may not have given me puppy fever! I asked Brittany to snap a couple of photos of us – I loved his puppy smell! I got home and told Josh “we need another dog!”. I’m still working on convincing him…

Brittany and Brandon – I loved meeting you guys! You are the sweetest couple with the sweetest love story. I can’t wait to continue working with you in the future as your family grows, and who knows, maybe even a Disney photoshoot?
