Discovering a new gorgeous place in the heart of North Providence to host a beautiful maternity session for a woman I deeply admire is, for sure, one of the highlights of my summer!

I don’t know when maternity sessions became a thing (I wish it was a thing when I was expecting), but I can see why they are so popular. It’s truly amazing to witness the love of a momma for her unborn child, and the love of a father for his family.

Capturing Cindy’s motherhood was special for so many reasons. I have known this gorgeous woman for a few years, and I have come to know her kindness, compassion, and humanity in her work as an immigration attorney. She is also a huge supporter of women’s rights and victims’ service organizations, and she has made it her mission to give a voice to the voiceless. Now, as she embarks on the journey of bringing into the world a little girl that is so lucky to have her as her momma, I see a different tender side of her that was just magical to watch.

It did not surprise me at all to see Cindy showing up for her session wearing a gorgeous white gown, and professionally done hair and makeup. Cindy has participated in several beauty pageants, including Miss Rhode Island and Mrs. Rhode Island. It was so fun to watch her work the camera with minimal effort – she made my job way too easy 🙂

Cindy and her husband Joseph chose a location for their session that I had never heard of. Having lived in Rhode Island for 20+ years, I was surprised that I had never been or heard of Governor Notte Park! When planning her session, Cindy was the one to suggest it and if you know me, you know I absolutely love discovering new locations!

This park has beautiful trails, a tranquil waterfall, a small beach, but the best part was that it was the location of the Overlook at Meehan, a charming area with panoramic views of the reservoir with a gazebo, paths, and greenery that were the absolutely perfect complement to Cindy’s white dress, baby belly and beautiful face.

I am certain that this will not be the last time I have a session here! The waterfall shots are some of my favorites ever and the number of incredible photos we were able to do within walking distance were insane! This place is going to the list of suggested locations for my clients 🙂
