Emma and John’s November wedding at the stunning Crystal Lake Golf Club was one for the books. The crisp November air carried that unmistakable New England charm. It was chilly enough to feel cozy, yet kissed with just the right amount of sunshine to make every moment glow.
From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a special day. The waterfront grounds were absolutely breathtaking, and Emma and John, along with their wedding party, were total troopers, embracing the brisk air with smiles, laughter, and a spirit of adventure. We darted in and out between portraits, warming up inside and heading right back out for more magic.
One of my favorite parts of the day was their first look on the back patio. A soft veil of clouds rolled in just in time to give us the dreamiest light, surrounded by peak fall foliage and Emma’s gorgeous bouquet. It was pure perfection.
Their indoor ceremony felt warm and intimate, a beautiful contrast to the cool air outside. Two unforgettable moments had everyone smiling: the flower grandmas stealing the show as they made their way down the aisle, and a special appearance by their pup, Ozzie Bones, who earned plenty of “awws” from the guests.
After a heartfelt ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the incredible Crystal Lake Golf Course staff transformed the space for the reception. Watching the room come together with tablescapes, lighting, and all the thoughtful details truly felt like witnessing magic in motion.
Once the DJ kicked off the evening, the celebration took on a life of its own. I have heard countless speeches over the years, but Jake, John’s brother, and Chris, his best friend, had everyone laughing out loud, myself included. The sweet speech from Emma’s maid of honor, Dayna, brought fond memories of their decades long friendship and love for each other.
And as the night went on, the dance floor absolutely caught fire — an intentional pun for a room full of firefighters, since John is a proud member of that brotherhood. The energy, joy, and love in that room were contagious.
Emma and John’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments, the laughter and tears, the quiet glances and the wild dance moves, is such a gift.
Congratulations, Emma and John! From the time of your engagement session I looked forward to this day, and I couldn’t be more grateful to you both.
