Fall senior sessions may be my new favorite. The weather can be highly unpredictable and it may take a few prayers that it holds up; but the colors, the light and the breeze make it so worth it. A wild wind storm filled the ground with all kinds of orange and yellow leaves that made Chriselly’s Fall senior session beyond perfect!

A senior at Cranston East, Chriselly told me she wanted a fun and memorable Fall senior session and I planned exactly what she needed. As a photographer, nothing is more fulfilling (and exciting!) than working with people that look forward to the experience. I had never met Chriselly before, and after a few text messages, a fun questionnaire and a phone conversation, it felt like I knew her for years! This girl is pure fire. Not only is she stunning, but she has the personality to go with her looks.

I decided a while ago to make every person in front of my camera, my muse. To do that, I need to connect to them, get to know them, get them to trust me. It’s all part of the experience of working with me. Chriselly and I talked about her high school years, her plans for the future, the boy that makes her heart skip a beat, and her hero. Her eyes got brighter when I asked her who is the bravest person she knows, and without hesitation she said “my mom”. Through my camera lens I saw in her eyes the love and admiration she has for her mother. I was also raised by a strong woman that faced many challenges in her teenage years, and I felt her emotion. I felt every word she spoke.

High school years are almost over, and Chriselly learned to take pauses and enjoy the moment. No one knows what kind of senior year she will have, but she is already looking forward to her bright future as a physician assistant. She has drawn a clear path ahead of her, and nothing will stop her from getting there.

Chriselly, thank you for letting me capture your beauty and your soul. Your kindness, passion and joy left me feeling on cloud nine; and I wish nothing less than the best for you. You go show them what you’re made of!
